The History of NFOC

The North Fair Oaks Council was first envisioned when a special committee was formed to plan the financial future of North Fair Oaks.

In June of 1987 the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo , as part of the Community Development Block Grant program, authorized the development of a program to study the Economic Strategies in North Fair Oaks. Two task forces were formed to develop a number of action -oriented strategies which could be implemented within 1-2 years. At the time of their final report to the Board of Supervisors in February 1988, they recommended that a permanent entity be formed to develop long-term economic strategies by active partnerships among community members, the private financial sector, and the private sector.

The Board passed Resolution number 54597 on December 11, 1990, to establish a Municipal Advisory Council for the unincorporated North Fair Oaks Community. That council is now known as the "North Fair Oaks Council"

Councils current resolution #63547 resolved 2002.
